My cactus ....the process

I did this painting in Jerome , Arizone ...The cactus plant was by the entrance of the building where we had the studio .  I got very inspired ...this was the first painting that I acheived in Arizona before I started  to do the landscape there which was really beautiful to paint and to capture the light and sun of the desert .

THIS A VIDEO SHOWING THE PROCESS I FOLLOWED TO PAINT ON WOOD PANEL .I FIRST PUT  A LAYER OF WHITE GESSO AND I DID DRAW OVER IT AND THAN I PAINTED . THE PART OF WOOD LEFT WITHOUT PAINTING IS GOING TO BE STAINED WITH A THIN WARM LAYER .....YOU CAN SEE THE SET -UP OF THE OBJECTS. I WORKED FROM LIFE ...I LIKE TO EXPERIEMENT WORKING ON WOOD WITH GESSO , IT IS KIND OF FUN ...I USED THE TECHNIQUE OF UNDERPAINTING WITH BURNT UMBER ....I WILL POST THE FINISHED PICTURE OF THE WORK SOON.    I am working in a sculpture - a girl seated on the floor - I am posting some photos of the process ....sculpting and modeling are very tactile ...one can feel the emotion in modeling a human body ...we are made from clay ...with a spirit ..so in working on my piece , I am really concentrating in the process to create my little" master piece "...Rodin and Camille Claudel expressed their feeling and emotions with a tons of work...they are superb...I visit often the museum of RODIN in Philadelphia ...wow ...I spent hours looking at one piece and I don't get enough....

My journey in Sedona and Jerome in Arizona ...in our studio

About me ...........I love to paint out door ....this was in Sedona, Oak Creeck , AZ ...I really forget about everything around me when I paint .......I dont care about heat or cold ....I just want to capture the moment ...I remember that day where we stopped to paint and I did have a better easle on me so I sat down on the grass and start to paint .......oooooops I wished I had a better easle .....I really could not afford to buy a professionnal one in those days .......

Painting in door , in the studio  of Jonathas De Silva , in Boca Raton , Florida ,....This is one of my earliest paintings in Florida in 2006 .  .. with instructions about old master techniques ....doing underpainting with burnt umbers and ochres ..........I loved that technique ... it is my passion .....I had a set up in front of me  ...

Art students league of NY

Hi my friends
Yesterday, Sunday, I was all day in my classes at the art student league of NY  in Manhattan . It was a rainy day . I spent all the day at the studio, painting . I came home tired , I prepared my food , checked my emails read some articles about everything happening in the world of art ,politic. economy . etc... I did not have time to post on my blog .
Today also, I have a lot to do , I just want to say Hi to you , and wish you a good week , hoping to find plenty time to post some pictures and photos of my journey , since I immigrate from my native country to the USA . It is really a rich experience that I want to share with you most of it . The jouney is not easy, but it is rich ...some happy moments and some sad ones......but at the end, both joy and sorrow are the two faces of one same coin.

femme artist muse

The tiltle I chose for my blog have a lot of meaning ....in following my story you  will probably find out why I gave it that name .
It is about the " femme " women inside of me , the artist inside of me , and the muse inside of me .
Three characters and three personnalities that are all three in one ....eventually, there is also the artist , the man to whom I got married , to whom i was the muse and the women and the artist.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved

femme artist muse is also femme man passion.

Art started to be my hobby when I was a kid and during my adolescence. With time I discovered the artist inside of me and start to nurture it and it grows up with me to be that part of me , to be me to be him to be her .

It was the most beautiful time i spent in Sedona , actually we had a studio in Jerome, a small town not far from Sedona . we use to drive every day 45 mins from home to the studio . The nature and landscape are magnificent . Painting was our passion and love .
