Florida and NY Juried Show - my awards winning

 In 2009 I entered a show in West Palm Beach with two of my oils  paintings one is "Oranges market", and the other one is" Contemplation" for which the jury gave me an award mention honnor . ..

In January 2011 , in the studend exhibition at the Art student league of NY , I got a blue dot for my oil painting -study of a portrait , a award winning mention honnor ...

Little pond - Pastel




Little Pond

  Soft pastel on gray canson paper ..
I did this little painting in Raleigh,NC in year 2006 . My skills were not as good as now , there is few mistakes in this painting like the reflected light on the stones .... I did not correct any thing, I just wanted to look back and see how much I improved since then in depecting lights...

 ...In the back yard of my brother's house there is this Little water pond ....the gentle fall of the water between the stones attracted my emotions .....I tried to convey the peaceful and charming atmosphere where I use to sit to have my coffee every morning enchanted by the sound and the view of this little pond of  the running water with amazing reflection of light ....

Joseph the model - oil painting

Joseph the model, oil painting on canvas .

I just finished working on this painting ....Joseph is a great model ..It took several long hours and days  to achieve this painting ...I think it was the most long process that i followed to capture the emotion and the atmosphere ....the loneliness...the sitting still of the model against this calm blue background..When I started this painting, I was not sure how it is going to end up,.It is my first painting of a full figure with that size of canvas .

  The inspiration of this painting  came from my nostalgie to my country....Sharazad goes west ....and evoking memories of the music and dance ...I paint this subject with a lot of emotions...Now the hooka  cafe is very Popular in USA....
I had to borrow the Fez and the musical instrument to make the set up ....

Painting portrait form life models become my passion...To depict the emotion on the faces and to paint a likeness of the model is a struggle and strive but when achieved , it is  a satisfaction ....
